SCENE OPENS as a beautiful woman named Josie steps out of her car. She looks around, breathing in the fresh air and smiling, happy to finally be home after such a long drive. She pops the trunk and takes out some luggage, pausing cautiously before walking back to the passenger door. She raps on the window and it slowly rolls down to reveal an uncomfortable looking young man sitting inside. Josie has driven her 22-year-old son, Aaron, home from college for the summer. It will be the first time that Aaron has visited his mom at her new house and with her new family. The woman recently re-married a man with a 19-year-old daughter who still lives at home.
Aaron never grew up with any siblings and has certainly never spent any time with teenage girls. He is still a virgin. A very awkward virgin. His mom asks if he is ready to come inside. Aaron looks pensive. She assures him that no is going to bite. It means a lot to her that hes agreed to spend the summer getting to know everyone. Aaron asks if he can just go to his room. Slightly frustrated, Josie opens the door and pulls her son to his feet. Aaron, she says.
Now, Im your mother and I love you. Today is a big deal for me. Will you please just play along? Aaron takes a deep breath and says OK. Josie smiles and gives him a big hug. Aaron sits rigidly on the couch while Josie talks in the background, showing her son her husbands art collection and bragging about his sophisticated tastes. Thats one advantage of him travelling so much for his work, she says. It feels like she gets to live in a museum. Way nicer than Aarons deadbeat father! Suddenly, the back door opens and Alexis bursts in the house. Bright eyed and perky, the scantily-dressed step-sister runs over to Josie and gives her a big bear hug before turning her eyes to Aaron. Aaron takes one look at her and flushes red. Is that my new big brother, she says flirtatiously. Mom, you didnt tell me your son was so adorable?! She slides in beside Aaron and straddles him to give him a hug. Aaron doesnt know where to put his hands. She giggles and slides off, introducing herself and welcoming him to the family. Sorry, I can come off as a little hyper! She apologizes. Im just so happy to finally meet you! She kisses his cheek and tells Josie that shell be in her room before running out. Josie smiles. Alexis is a sweet girl, she says as she gets back to her tour. Aaron covers the bulge in his trousers. A FEW DAYS LATER. Aaron is sitting on the patio reading when Alexis returns from a jog. She is wearing nothing but a sports bra and booty shorts. Saying hi, she asks if its ok if she stretches on the patio beside him and, not knowing what to do, he says sure. While she bends over, Aaron cant help but stare. She has a perfect body. She asks him how old he is. He says 22. She asks him why he reads all the time. He tells her he is preparing for post-graduate school in the fall. She tells him she just turned 19 but has no idea what she wants to do with her life. Their small talk fizzles into awkward silence while Aaron keeps staring. At a certain point, Alexis looks in between her legs and catches him. She smirks.
